It is official. Our squadron is issuing a PT challenge to all the SMs of NC-022.
Here is how it is going to work.
1. Show up on the cadet PT night in civvies and sneakers. (Cadets wear dk blue or black shorts/sweatpants and dk. blue, black or grey t-shirts) PT night is the first Tuesday of each month.
2. Participate in as many of the 5 PT events as possible. We may be thinking up a new event for the SM, like who can type the most words per minute. Just kidding.
3. Report your scores to the score keeper. The point of all of this is to improve your scores month by month. There are no minimum requirements, for example, I can not run an entire mile at this time, so I will be walking most of it. Truth be told, I can't even run an entire 1/2 mile, so I have lots of room for improvement. Don't even get me started about push-ups.
4. The only rules are come have fun, don't get hurt, and get fit. Well, that and don't wear too short of shorts. You know, cadet protection and all.
5. The 5 events are: Mile run, 30 foot shuttle run, sit and reach (a stretching thing), curl ups and push ups.
6. I have trained enough cadet staff to monitor the events. They will also train you and give demonstrations.
All right, the challenge has been issued. You can respond to this email to sign up or see me at the Tuesday meetings.
